Hi Jammers! Today a new Animal Jam Academy Lesson has been put out, which is all about bouncy balls. These are really cool rubber toys and it is the rubber that enables them to bounce really high. You can make bouncy balls out of plastic and rubber, but did you know you can make your own bouncy ball with just items that are sitting around your house?
For this Animal Jam Academy lesson, you will make your own bouncy balls by mixing up ingredients together, and this then forms a polymer. A polymer is when you have a chain of molecules that are stuck together, and these are found in items you use every day around your home. You will find polymers in furniture, bottles, and clothing items, so learning how this process is made will make you appreciate your household items even more! You will find that this is not a hard lesson or activity, but it’s one that involves a lot of molecules coming together, so you will learn a lot about science and how items are made on a bigger scale.
